"In 2021, compelled to seek solitude, I left my community. The Eastern Shore islands of Maryland, long a mysterious allure, beckoned me. Amidst fortuitous circumstances, I found myself on the Eastern Shore, coinciding with a visit to the National Gallery where Helen Frankenthaler's “Mountains and Sea” captivated me. A kindred spirit emerged between her artistic journey and my exploration of this mystical new land. Inspired, I began liquifying acrylic paints for a commissioned piece, aiming to articulate the profound emotions of my mystical encounter in this unfamiliar territory."
